Kaleb Jones is the kind of student who makes excellence look easy, but anyone who knows him understands it’s all about his drive and heart. He’s built a reputation around campus for being incredibly positive and kind-minded, always bringing a genuine, good attitude to the halls. Whether he’s hitting the books or the court, Kaleb has mastered a schedule that would make most people’s heads spin.
For Kaleb, it’s about giving his absolute best to everything he touches. He has successfully balanced the physical demands of basketball with the technical challenges of the engineering lab.
“The first two I prioritized were basketball and engineering. I make sure I’m in attendance for both and give them both my full effort. My job fits right in with my schedule, allowing me to adjust my work days if I ever have a basketball game or a practice.”
Keeping it all together takes a lot of discipline, especially when your calendar is packed from Monday through Sunday. Kaleb’s routine is a excellent in time management; while his weekdays are focused on sports and engineering on Thursdays, he spends his weekends working and volunteering. How does he stay so calm under pressure? It’s all about the preparation.
“Just scheduling things and planning them weeks in advance so I don’t face any problems the week or day of.”
Kaleb’s hard work shows up clearly in his 3.5 GPA. Maintaining those grades while juggling a job, a sport, and a demanding engineering track is a huge accomplishment that proves his dedication.
Kaleb is officially taking the engineering route after high school and is currently looking for the right college to further his career.
