Our next student of the week is a member of JROTC. Ariella Merril is a senior who plans to attend Wake Tech and major in Graphic Design. As well as being a rising designer, she has various accomplishments within JROTC.
“I am a Staff Sargent, an S One, and a squad leader in JROTC,” Merril said.
JROTC is known for its strictness, but it’s also known that you can find a community that supports you. It provides students with opportunities and various knowledge on different topics.
“JROTC teaches proper manners, the history of the country, military skills, and drills. Through JROTC, I’ve done saber and archery, gone to events like Pause for Life, Reefs Across America, which is an event for fallen veterans,” Merril said
Aside from school, Merril has jump-started her plans for the future by starting her own nail business called sets.by.ariella. Through this, she is further developing her design skills and networking with her soon-to-be clients. Showing her initiative and drive to work on her future.
“My business is called sets.by.ariella on Instagram. I make press-on nails. I recently discovered my love for Graphic design and doing nails, and I hope the name of my business gets pushed out more.” Merril said.
Merril is a great example of being a good student and doing the things you love in and out of school. Merril is a determined student and rising businesswoman, and her life and success have just started.
