On March 21, Wake Forest invites Juniors and Seniors to a night of curiosity and wonder, orchestrated by Ms. McGrath. As the seniors prepare for their final prom and juniors celebrate their first, all upperclassmen get a chance to step into Wonderland. This year’s theme is “We’re all Mad Here” to give prom some magic and mystery.
Senior Cristian Juarez is attending prom this year; he expressed his excitement for celebrating his last prom with his friends. Cristian noted how the planning process hasn’t been stressful, as he “just went shopping for new clothes.” He explains how he is ready for the after parties, which will be the highlight of his night.
Junior Kara Farley is taking in all of the prom festivities by going to not one but two proms. She explained that her date attends another school, so they will attend both events to support one another. The planning for it was pretty stress-free, suggesting that it was “the same old same old” and she wasn’t too worried about the minor details. After prom is over, Kara is going to focus on her future and the challenges that come with her senior year.
Senior Gavin Summers is attending his prom with his group of 25 people; the group is starting off the excitement with a party bus to have some fun before they arrive. While many students are focused on finding their dates, he is looking forward to continuing the night at a house party with his friends. When asked about planning the night, he explained, “It wasn’t stressful for me, for the girls in our group chat, yeah, for sure,” but he hopes it will be a stress-free night for everyone.
Whether it’s seniors like Cristian and Gavin looking forward to final celebrations and party buses, or juniors like Kara managing a double-prom schedule, the consensus is clear: the focus is on fun and friendship rather than the stress of planning. It is set to be a night of magic and lasting memories for everyone involved.
