Thanksgiving is a time for gratefulness and community, where you reconnect with family and friends and share yummy food. While the day lands on a different day every year, the warmth it brings remains the same.
“I love this time of year, it’s so much fun, and I love the food,” Junior Alyssa Smith said.
The most noteworthy part of Thanksgiving has to be the food; there isn’t a strict kind of food that represents Thanksgiving, you can bring anything from different cultures, people bring stuff from turkey all the way to lasagna, the possibilities are endless.
“ I really like turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and mac and cheese, especially.”Sophomore Andrew Calfee said.
When celebrating Thanksgiving, traveling is something that happens. Usually, families travel to spend time with their grandparents, and everyone reunites.
“I’m going to Greensboro to visit my grandparents.” Senior Peyton Berger said.
Another big part of Thanksgiving is telling people the things that you’re grateful for that year. There are lots of things one can be thankful for, like having friends and family, having a home, and warm food. Though the one thing that can sometimes get overlooked is school, and the things school can bring to you.
“I’m grateful for the amazing staff here and their support.” Senior James Westmoreland said.
Thanksgiving may not be as popular as other holidays, but when it comes joys always follows.
