On Tuesday golf won their conference match, and they took first place overall.

Tuesday’s match had some key players to put them in the lead in front of Wakefield. Catherine Vivongsy scored a 37, only one shot over par. Vivongsy was coming off an eagle putt in her previous conference match that had propelled the team to a 2nd place finish.

Carter Day shot a 45 and M.K. Hederick scored a 46 to cement the first place finish.

At Wednesday’s match, Oct. 3,  the team placed second to slip into a tie for first place with Wakefield.

Junior Morgan McPhatter stepped up to replace M.K. Hederick for Wednesday’s match tying teammate Vivongsy with a 42. Close behind was Carter Day with a score of 48.

The team finished in 3rd place, but 2nd overall in conference.

Hederick felt accomplished scoring a hole in one.

Four all conference players including, McPhatter, Hederick, Day, Vivongsy qualified for regionals.

Players are excited for the success the team has had so far.

“I am thrilled that our team won on Tuesday. That’s a huge accomplishment for us because we have been coming in 2nd place each match. A majority of the players who are in each match also qualified for regionals, and that’s also fantastic news,” said Hederick.

As the season ends, the team is pleased with their end results.
