Freshman Isabella Frey has had a very promising debut athletic performance so far. Frey takes part in cross country as well as track and field, and she excels in both.
For motivation, Frey looks up to our upperclassmen runners who set an example by being skilled student athletes. She stated that they push her to always try her hardest.
After being crowned NAC-VI champion in the 3200m, Frey described how pleased she felt with her success.
“I feel pretty accomplished really,” Frey said. “It’s a lot of hard work that goes into it, but in the end it all kind of pays off.”
Frey has qualified for states in two events: the 1600m and 3200m runs.
Her 1600m time is currently ranked fourth in the region while her 3200m qualifying time is ranked third.
Looking ahead at her high school athletic career, Frey said, “I definitely want to try to be top in the state for a lot of things, and hopefully go to college for running.”
