Players honored at football banquet

Senior Safety Drew Homschek received the Golden Helmet Award. Homschek was given the award since he was the best all around on the defensive side of the field.

For the Cougars, plan on the football banquet being in January.

While the rest of the fall sports honored their athletes Nov. 16, the football team was getting ready for round two of the playoffs against Millbrook high school in what would eventually become a magical season.

Coaches and players gathered Jan. 22 for their annual banquet to honor the players and to single out certain players for awards.

Here’s the list of players honored at this year’s banquet.

DB – Connor Loeffler – ROBBER AWARD

LB – Jon Jiles – HIT MAN AWARD

OL – Josh King – DOMINATOR AWARD

RB – Demarcus Jones – STALLION AWARD

WR – Lex Goodwin – AIR PATROL AWARD

ST – Nlan Parrish and Sam Deluke – SPECIAL FORCES AWARD

Scout Team – Devinn Ratte – SCOUT TEAM AWARD

Offensive MVP – Devon Lawrence – ROCK HARRISON AWARD

Defensive MVP – Seth Williams – RON HALES AWARD
