Athletic department introduces the 2018 Hall of Fame class

Wake Forest, NC – 1/16/18– The Wake Forest High School Athletic Booster Club in conjunction with Athletic Director Mike Joyner announces the 2018 class of the Wake Forest High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

The organization honors the contributions of athletes, coaches and volunteers who were a part of Wake Forest’s rich history.

“We are proud to announce our 2018 Hall of Fame class. Our committee feels these inductees comprise a well-rounded class that represents the history of our school,” Joyner said.

We are pleased to announce the following seven people for induction:

Chuck Hess- A former teacher, athletic director, soccer coach and basketball coach. His teams won a state championship in soccer in 1996 and an eastern regional championship in basketball in 1995.

Ron Richards- 25 plus year veteran teacher and coach who coached JV football, track and golf.

Eric Williams- 2002 graduate who was a McDonald’s All-American and went on to play at Wake Forest University. He currently plays for the Geneva Lions in Switzerland.

Alisha Woodson- 2008 graduate who was an All- state and all regional soccer player and went on to play at Wake Forest University and on the 2011 U-23 National Team.

Romas Lucas- A 1990 graduate who was an All-Conference and All-Metro player in football and basketball. He was the conference player of the year in basketball and went on to play at Chowan.

Daniel Caldwell- A 1999 graduate who was a three time all-conference selection, two time all-state selection, and an All-American in baseball. He went on to play at NC State and in the Chicago Cubs organization.

Amanda Duncan- A 2005 graduate who was a state champion in the 100-Butterfly and state runner-up in the 50-Freestyle. She went on to swim at East Carolina University.

The Hall of Fame class will be introduced at the basketball games vs Heritage on Jan. 23 and will be officially inducted at a banquet at the school May 3.
