At the end of the wrestling season, two of our wrestlers are able to say they appeared at the state championships, sophomore Nicholas Mutio and senior Brinson Allen.

Mutio ended the 2014 season with an overall record of 18-4, he won the state championship, and placed 9th in regionals.

Mutio described going to the tournament as “exceptional,” but he thinks he can do better.

“Good accomplishment, just want to improve for next year. I plan on at least placing next year or if I can, win,” Mutio said.

Allen, on the other hand, ended his high school wrestling career with an overall record of 31-8 and also attended states.

Allen had a total of 15 pins on the season.

“I feel accomplished, like I have done what I have been working for, which was to go to state tournaments.” Allen said.
