Team finishes regular season tied for 3rd place

The wrestling team went 11-6 this season with a 5-2 conference record and impressive wins over Wakefield and Heritage. They finished third in the in the Cap-8 conference tournament.
The achievement of finishing third in conference was a team effort.
“As a team I feel great because everyone did not think about wrestling as an individual thing, but we thought of it as a team, and that enabled us to get third in conference,” senior Terance Beard said.
The Cougars amassed a total of 131 pins on the season and only gave up 104 pins. At the end of the season the wrestling team totaled 1326 match points and only yielded 860. The average margin of victory was 14.5 points.
The wrestling team is graduating six seniors this year.
Coach Sam Hershey said. “To finish third in the conference was a great accomplishment and I am proud of my boys.”
