For the previous two school years, the prom was the only dance hosted by the school, leaving freshmen and many sophomores out.

Surrounding schools had homecoming dances, fall and winter formal dances and other events.
On our opinion pages during those years, reporters lamented the lack of dances and called upon the Student Government Association and the administration to remedy it.

They listened. Thanks to SGA adviser Sarah Larsen and Media Specialist Heather Fields and student leaders, a fall dance was hosted this year.

We appreciate their efforts and administrators and teachers for giving up a night to chaperone.
