Three Questions With Swimmers Bacon and Quaresma

Varsity boys’ swimmers Tate Bacon and David Quaresma discuss their performance at regionals and their thoughts heading into the upcoming state meet.

Q: What events did you win first place in at regionals?

Bacon: “I won the 100 fly and 100 back fly.”

Quaresma: “I won the 100 and 200 freestyle.”

Q: How did it feel to place first at these events?

Bacon: “It felt really nice. I have always been the type of guy who hates to lose more than I love to win, so I went into the meet a little bit nervous, because I wanted to defend my title from last year.”

Quaresma: “It felt really good, especially the 100 freestyle. I was racing very good competition, a very good race, and it came down to the last few yards, just out touched him.”

Q: How are you preparing for states?

Bacon: I’m training through this week so I won’t rest much. I’m seeded first, so I’m confident.”

Quaresma: “I’m training hard, gonna start resting a bit in a couple days. I’m sitting first in the 100 for states, so I’m going to try to keep it that way and get the win again.”
