Homecoming is one of the events that students look forward to every year. As well as spirit week, which serves the purpose of lifting the spirits of the student body for the homecoming game. The anticipation of homecoming and the different themes make the entire week exciting and give the school a chance to show its creativity.

¨ I think it’s really good for the school. I think everybody, like, joins together and, like, makes everybody close. I think it energizes the students and really brings them together.¨Senior Gavin Summer said.

The beginning of the school year can be hard to jump into right away, and it can be hard to find the inspiration to want to put the effort into schoolwork.

¨I think it brings school spirit into the school, especially when it’s the beginning of the year, and people, like, are a bit drowsy or they don’t want to be here. Homecoming brings a brighter, happier spirit. ¨ Junior Maya Simone Danco said.

The spirit week theme is something lots of schools do, and it usually receives great results. With themes going all the way from Bring a Kid to School Day to Anything But a Backpack Day, schools have had fun with this wild week for years, and our school is no exception. With so many possibilities, it is hard to pick just one theme, but students certainly have ones they’ve always wanted to participate in.

¨ I think we should have Adam Sandler day because I like him.¨ Senior Kaylee Bowers said.

Homecoming can sometimes be a whole-day event, with putting the finishing touches on your makeup or even getting pre-homecoming food.

¨I went to my friend’s house to get ready, and then we went out to eat at Red Robin’s.¨ Junior Alyssa Smith said.

Spirit week and Homecoming are a great way to start the school year, bringing joy. It is something we look forward to every year, as well as the wild themes that come with Spirit Week.
