On Tuesday, March 11, a group called the “No Hate Tour” came to Wake Forest High School to talk about anti-bullying. They explained that bullying someone online can be just as hurtful as bullying someone in person; it’s just happening through a phone or computer. The assembly was really exciting, especially when the team of guys showed off their bike tricks and stunts.
Their program is a powerful way to educate students about bullying while using the thrill of action sports. They bring in popular BMX riders that teens look up to, who perform energetic shows at the school and share their own stories about dealing with bullying, overcoming challenges, and being a supportive friend. They focus on the importance of being kind, choosing positive friends, solving problems, being aware of mental health, and other important topics that matter to teens.
