FFA (Future Farmers of America) Club is part of a national organization that focuses on agricultural education and leadership development. The club aims to engage students in various aspects of agriculture, including farming, horticulture, and animal science. They also emphasize personal growth, leadership skills and community service.
Members participate in hands-on activities such as competitions and community projects. They also engage in events such as public speaking, judging contests and leadership conferences. The FFA Club fosters teamwork and promotes agricultural awareness, preparing students for careers in agriculture and related fields. It’s a great opportunity for students to connect with their interests and develop valuable skills for the future.
The FFA has been a very rewarding experience for all of those who put in the effort to join the club.
Dana Donaldson, FFA advisor, has several activities she enjoy in the FFA,
“I love to train livestock evaluation teams, and love teaching the floriculture team how to tie bows,” Donaldson said.
These are some of the other activities that the people who join FFA can and will participate in.
Dylan Medlin, who graduated class of 2024, was formerly a part of the FFA and participated in many events has a lot to say about his experience with the club..
“I participated in many things in FFA. I participated in monthly meetings as well as other CDE events. I did the forestry, floriculture and the poultry evaluation events,” Medlin said. “I was also an officer and helped with various other local FFA chapter activities.”
Miabelle Scheuerle, graduated class of 2024, also has attributes about the FFA she enjoyed participating in.
“I enjoyed the events we did like banquets and the plant sale,” Scheuerle said.
The future of FFA is looking bright. It can truly be a rewarding experience for all of those involved and for the community.
