At our school, we have an abundance of student internships available for students for an opportunity, for career exploration and development and to learn new skills, as well as first-hand experience, professional opportunities, and personal growth in whatever role a student wants for the career. These internships are beneficial when it comes to helping them understand more and get more experience. Susan Tyson, the Career Development Coordinator, is the person to go to if you want help finding or getting an internship.
We have many internships but a few notable ones are a Health Science/Wellness/Alchemy Hot Yoga internship, a Reef Farm internship and a propel marketing internship.
One student, Sophia Kuzaro is in the Health Science/Wellness/Alchemy Hot Yoga internship. The reason she chose this internship is because it helps her get a feel of what her career would feel like.
As an intern, Kuzora has multiple roles and responsibilities.
“So, I am kinda like the understudy to other teachers and I’ll watch class, I’ll take classes, and I am getting my certification right now so am I in the training, so normally my internship hours are over the weekend when I’m doing a training, and it’s a 200-hour training, so we like anatomy labs, philology, and sequence,” Kuzora said.
Another student, Jake Ritchie, is doing a STEM internship, the Reef Farm internship. This reef farm internship is not a paid internship. Ritchie was recommended for this internship because he would like to become a Marine biologist.
“I think it’s a really good opportunity to get a college opportunity and explore career paths,” which is one of the importance of internships,” Ritchie said.
Richie said that the best qualities of his internship were that the person in charge is not strict, and she does an excellent job at transferring the information to them.
The last of the amazing internships is a Marketing Internship at Propel Marketing Group done by Emma Mitchell. Mitchell explains she wants to fulfill her career in marketing and major in it in college as well. She recommends taking a marketing internship for anyone interested in marketing after graduating. Also, she’s able to shadow others, learn, and get pre-educated on marketing before she decides to major in it after high school.
Overall, we have an abundance of great internships that can help you gain more experience in what you may want to do. We also have multiple teachers to help guide you with your career goals and what you need to do to fulfill your career path or to even help you figure out what you want to do with your educational path for the future. If you don’t know what you want to do in the future, get advice, and make connections that can help you advance your career.
