The boys’ cross country team closed out the regular season in Cary Oct. 16 for the conference championship race. The Cougars edged out the Heritage Huskies 50 to 72 to secure the second place spot in the conference.
The Millbrook Wildcats won the day with an impressive 22 score, placing three runners in the top five, including conference champion, sophomore Wyatt Pearce (16:22.38).
Leading the Cougars, senior Matthew Walker took fifth overall, 47 seconds behind the champion.
