The girls’ cross country team travelled to Cary Sept. 16 to join hundreds of runners at the Adidas XC Challenge at WakeMed Soccer Complex. The girls team competed in the Girls Challenge Race, the third division for varsity runners. The event saw 190 athletes compete. The Cougars placed 17 out 23 teams, with sophomore Lily Alston cracking the top 10 (21:02.00). Alston’s time would have earned her 44th out of 274 athletes had the Cougars competed in the second division race.
