With a three-way tie for first in conference and a title of state qualifier, the season for the girls’ tennis team comes to a close.

Senior Rachel Davis, #2 seed shares what contributed to the team’s accomplishments.

“This season, well, I think we all practiced a little harder this year, and I think we really wanted to win more this year,” Davis said.

Out of all individual achievements, #3 seed junior Sophie Padalecki holds a few in specific as her most pleasing.

“I’m very proud that we were first in the conference. I made it to regionals as the number one doubles seed with Rachel, so I was really proud of that. We made it to the second round of playoffs,” Padalecki said.

Next year’s season in mind, #1 seed, junior Katie Dickerson wants to continue what’s working.

“This season I have really improved my game and built special relations with my teammates,” Dickerson said.

Brian Lesh, coach reflects on what he wants to bring into the subsequent season.

Lesh said, “This falls right into increasing our level of play. We were tied at the top for the conference championship with two other teams. Next year I would like to see us be at the top on our own, but that can only be accomplished by the girls that I have now that are returning, spending time in the off season.”
