Three Golfers Attend NCHSAA Regional Match

The 4A girls’ golf NCHSAA regionals match was held Oct. 19, featuring three Cougar golfers who qualified to compete for a chance to go to the state match.

The team placed 6th out of 13 teams with a total to par score of +72.

The Cougars were four strokes behind Cleveland’s +68 and one stroke ahead of Athens Drive’s +73.

Team leader sophomore Skyler Kipp took home the 23rd slot, shooting a 92. Kipps score was one off the 21st and 22nd placed golfers.

Senior Megan Brantly finished four strokes behind Kipp, finishing in 31st place. Teammate Parker Bowman rounded out the scoring for the Cougars with her 37th place finish out a field of 65 golfers.

The team did not qualify for the state match, but Kipp did qualify as an individual and will complete at the state match Oct. 25 and 26.
