Halloween, with just the word you can feel the fall air, the feeling of smelling pumpkin spice and cinnamon, wanting to carve pumpkins, halloween fairs with your friends and family, and making costumes! I could go on and on about the exciting things you do in the fall and getting into the Halloween spirit, so why don’t we get the days off of work and school like we do on Christmas, or why don’t we get an extra day of halloween, like halloween eve? You can argue that Christmas has its religious connections so it would be more important to celebrate and get some time off, but that can’t be true or fair since most holidays have their religious connections as well. Halloween is also connected with some christian beliefs and even pagan rituals.
So, why not talk about all the exciting things you can do on Halloween! Trick-or-Treating, Halloween is known for this activity since you can go out and dress up in any costume and get free candy! Halloween is for everyone and Trick-or-Treating is only one of many things you can do, and even if it’s directed to younger audiences it shouldn’t matter. Who ever said there was an age limit on fun? Pumpkin carving, the classic tradition of being able to go out and pick a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch, or even just go to the store and get one to pick exactly to your liking. Even if you don’t enjoy getting dirty and carving a pumpkin you could always paint it or eat it! How about some activities for the ones who like to be spooked, the ones not easily scared? Haunted houses and scary corn mazes are traditional for the spooky holiday with being with your friends, feeling like being in a horror movie, being chased and jumpscared! Though maybe that’s not your thing and you prefer the other fall activities. Even if you don’t celebrate halloween there are plenty of fall celebrations that welcome everyone. Horror movies, hayrides, fall baking, apple bobbing and more! No one has to celebrate halloween to enjoy some fall activities which is a great reason why halloween is a perfect holiday!
People can disagree and say so many reasons why halloween cant be treated like Christmas, but halloween has so many more activities that most people can’t get to do with their work or school. To get some sort of break and enjoy yourself in these spooky times would be a perfect opportunity for people who love halloween or people who want to spend time with their family and friends.
