Masks are nothing new to the students at our school, but both the mandate and some student masks will be removed soon.

With a much-anticipated announcement from the school board, after March 7 students and faculty will no longer be required to wear masks.

Reporters surveyed 882 students by visiting their classrooms. Students were asked what they would likely choose regarding wearing masks once the mandate expires.

While 49 percent of the surveyed students will opt to continue wearing their mask,  51 percent signaled they would not. This total came from a collected 438 students who voted yes to masks and 444 students who voted no.
