Holding dominance over Wake County turf, Bryce Love is selected for the 2014 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

Love will only be the only player representing Wake County in the Shrine Bowl this year.

“This is definitely an honor. Not a lot of people get to play in it. It is a great opportunity to represent Wake Forest and the community,” Love said.

Love was chosen as one of the top 44 senior football players in N.C. to be featured in the annual Shrine Bowl. Love and other all-stars from North Carolina will be going up against the best of the best from South Carolina on Dec. 20 at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C.

Being featured in the Shrine Bowl was a big goal of Love’s, and it can now be added to his list of accomplishments. He now has the additional opportunity to be exposed to college coaches and receive increased recognition.

“The coaches were definitely happy. They felt like I was more than capable. They respected it and recognized the good opportunity,” Love said.

Love has already received 22 offers from colleges such as Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Florida, Syracuse, and South Carolina.

“I am sure that college coaches will be out there watching practices and looking at the game when it comes on T.V.,” Love said.

Love plans to continue working after the Wake Forest season ends in order to prepare for this all-star event and wants to improve by listening to the experienced Shrine Bowl coaches.

Love said, “I plan to work hard, get the reps in, and take all that I have learned so far and apply it to this game in December.”
