Dec. 19 marked the end of Cougar Football for the class of 2024 as the seniors and the team were celebrated at the annual football banquet.
Singled out by the NAC-VI coaches were junior Evan Helfrich and senior Zane Williams.
The coaches selected Williams as the Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The outside linebacker lead the team with 10.7 tackles per game. Williams amassed 96 tackles in nine regular season games, including 24.5 tackles for loss.
Helfrich nabbed the Special Teams Player of the Year honor. The kicker contributed 50 points to the Cougar offense in 10 regular season games.
